After a brief conversation with Brian, it was clear that I must bring him to Unity Of Augusta. He arrived in April and on a beautiful Sunday morning he led the morning meditation. The Unitarian Universalist Church of Utica NY hosted a 90-minute evening event with Brian. He talked about spirituality, about his personal journey, and guided a meditation. Brian also led us in chanting accompanied with his melodeon. 26 people attended, a mix of church members and folks who came as a result of announcements we sent around to yoga studios or who saw our publicity. We received personal follow up thank-you’s from most who came, mentioning they hope we can have Brian again next year. We’ve never had a wandering monk at UUUtica. Brian sent us a blind email with some links, which I clicked on just out of curiosity. Brian’s joyfulness came through immediately, even thru the distance of the internet. This is very much in keeping with our mission as a church – to provide a wide variety of spiritual experience. In fact, we hope to arrange Brian’s next visit to be at a time when he can also be a guest presenter during a Sunday morning service.

I met Brian when he travelled to the Northern California area, seeking to facilitate Satsangs at various yoga and spiritual centers. I am like a mother hen when it comes to protecting this Unity of Stockton community. I checked him out, as I do all guest speakers, before I said yes to his invitation. I watched one of his livestream Satsangs. I looked at his website and his Facebook page. I talked with him on the phone. I talked with him about Unity's teachings. I hosted Brian at my home while he was in town, and found his personality to be quiet, polite, respectful, loving and positive. He acted with integrity, conscientiousness, and with a sense of responsibility.
Brian conducted two Satsangs for our community. His first Satsang for Unity of Stockton was on a Saturday morning. It was well attended, about a third of our congregants, as well as others from the Stockton community, were present. Brian’s message about the wonderment of our value and worth as spiritual beings, accompanied by the hauntingly sacred music from his harmonium, as he sang of our divine essence, was well-received by attendees at this Unity of Stockton sponsored event. Many of us felt a deep stirring in our souls. Due to popular demand, we invited Brian to return for a second Satsang two weeks later, so that we could experience the intense healing one more time, before he left for his spiritual journey throughout the United States. Based on the positive comments from our attendees about their experiences, Brian was invited by several surrounding yoga and spiritual centers in several Northern California cities, to do Satsangs there as well. Again, he was well received, and the events were well attended. We look forward to asking Brian back again.
